Are you questioning your sexual identity?
Do you worry that it’s not ok to be gay, lesbian, or bisexual?
Are you wondering how to express your bisexuality?
Not sure how or when to come out?
Are you having problems in relationships?
We provide safe place for LGBT people and couples to grow.
It’s important to find a therapist who understands the unique needs of the LGBT community and the complexities of sexual orientation/identity.
As LGBT counselors, we work with people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, questioning, and those who aren’t sure what to call themselves yet. We also work with people who are in polyamorous or open relationships or are wondering how to express their bisexuality in a relationship. Our counselors help people to make sense of the cultural, family, or spiritual messages they have about what it means to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. We also support people as they choose who to come out to, when, and how.
Our LGBT friendly counselors can help with coming out, identity, bullying, and relationships.
Or – are you looking for help with something unrelated to your sexual or gender identity but want a therapist who “gets it”? Virginia Beach Counseling and Wellness is a safe place for the LGBT community to talk about anything – whether it’s related to your sexual identity or not.
We also help with:
Survivors of trauma
Stress and anxiety
Mood and depression
In LGBT counseling, our goal is to support you as you find and accept your authentic self and explore what that means in your life. We can work together to explore and shift long-standing patterns and beliefs that may be holding you back. We’re here to help you find a sense of peace, balance, and confidence so you can live life to the fullest.

Will you try to change my sexual or gender identity?
We are LGBT friendly therapists. That means we love working with the LGBT community and would never try to change who you are. We do NOT believe there is anything wrong with being lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning. If you are struggling with your sexual or gender identity, we will help you explore those feelings and begin to accept yourself. We also help families process and understand their feelings about having an LGBT child.
Counseling for transgender, non-binary, or gender-diverse people
Our therapists offer compassionate support for transgender, genderqueer, gender non-binary, and gender non-conforming people. If you’re questioning who you are, we can help you explore your identity and what it means for you. If you are thinking about a transition, our LGBT counselors can help you find the information and resources you need. We will walk with you and provide the support you need.
We also offer a safe place for trans and gender-diverse people seeking counseling for other reasons, who are looking for a therapist who understands gender identity.
